Very slow process but I've got most of the front end mocked up. I'd be ready for brakes if I had a better ball joint press.

I am building a 69 1/2 ton short bed right now. I have a porterbuilt inner frame stiffener installed currently. Have you installed your LS/T56 in the truck yet with the frame stiffener? If so, did you have to clearance the stiffener to get it to fit? My stiffener is a bit beefier in the top bracket area. I bought mine in 2014. Not sure if this is something that Porterbuilt is doing now to provide more clearance for larger transmission installs. Man, any help you can give me with knowledge here will really help. I am close to pulling the trigger on an LS3/T56 powerplant combo. I really like what you are doing with your project. Good Luck with it!!

Honestly I haven't gotten to that point yet. This project is moving at a very slow pace. lol. Once I get my front brakes installed then I'm going to install the motor/trans. Porterbuilt does know what trans I'm using and they never mention any issues.

Since I'm in here and posting I might as well give a bit of an update.

Most of the chassis is assembled and front suspension installed. I need to order my front brakes so I can wrap up the front end and install the engine/trans. I also decided I'm going to box in part of the rear frame by the upper shock crossmember. Since the weather is getting cooler and my other hobbies are in good places, I hope to make some real progress this winter.
