      '70 Pontiac Bodywork Help

I am hoping to start bodywork on my car this winter, but am looking for some resources to help me get pointed in the right direction:

Does anyone have any resources, articles, websites, etc. to help a 'newb' get some background info. for the technology, materials needed, tools, and/or place to start?

I am hoping to just pick a small dent, or piece of the body to start with and get the overall process for dent removal, panel replacement, etc. in order to one day get/apply some new paint. I would also appreciate any pointers from people with experience going through this process in their own garage - especially with regards to ventilation, breathing apparatus recommendations, etc. Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated!

      -Eric

Eastwood has a huge resource of information available. You can also get books at the library. Body work is pretty much the same for the past few decades with the exception of tools and electronics. Get the basics down with a hammer and dollie and everything else will follow.
I was a tech for over 20 years and in addition to that I taught at a vocational adult school for 8 years as well. Feel free to ask any questions. Send pics and we can develope a step by step procedure for getting your car looking great.

That sounds great, thanks for the response. I went ahead and picked up a basic bodywork book at a local bookstore that I plan to read through before I start pounding away on sheet metal. I will also spend some time on the Eastwood website. I also spoke with a vendor at a local swap meet a while back and picked up a 5-piece 'beginners' Martin hammer/dolly set. So I think im on my way, its just a matter of where to start first and what to do. Ill try to take some pictures of the condition of my car and post them later and maybe get some feedback as to a good spot to start/practice with.

There are a lot of videos on youtube also. From fixing a dent to replacing panels, to painting your car.
