63 VW Bug Project at R.A.W. RODS Restorations & Customs.

Cool little project were are able to be a part of. Its a 63 VW Bug that was brought in for us to do paint and body on. The chassis or pan we call it was done In California by another shop and so was the Engine.

We received the body already primed but since the custom had decided on Cadillac's CTS-V diamond Black three stage paint job he wanted us to block it all back down and get it straight.

Because of all the stuff going into this build witch you will see later, we had to put some air vents in the rear wheel wells. There are going to be two small radiators to cool the oil for the trans.

Here you can see the frame that will enclose the Radiators.

After getting it blocked down we rolled the pan in to do some test fitting. You can see there is going to be a lot of stuff in this one!

      Some eye candy!

The pan is a beast...the vent holes made me think RC51 radiators, then I saw the internal bracket Is the motor a 2553?

The Engine is a 2386 if I remember correctly with EFI and it put 303 at the wheels on 16psi.

Instead of typing all the stuff out about the suspension you can see it here In a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKizlXoyk_s

The body fit pretty good other then the piping and turbo hitting on the back sheet metal. So I made a few changes to the back but he will still be able to run the deck lid closed.

Here you can see the bump out we welded in so the turbo and pipes would clear.

WOW OH WOW -- Beautiful work on the engine -- don't know if I would of went that large on the throttle body and intake tubing, might make putting around the street weird and take a minute or two to boost up -- but it is beautiful to look at

The body work is looking good -- Keep the pictures coming
