      The big wires are 10 gauge. The little wire is 18 gauge at most. The two outside wires need to be 10 gauge and go to the motor. This should be done via high quality butt connectors (unshielded with a proper crimp tool...with glue lines heatshrink tubing). The two inter big wires also need to be 10 gauge and also need to incorporate the signal wire. The solution that I proposed, with the 3 cavity connector from Spal has the three wires worked into it. There are the two wires going to the controller, plus the signal wire, all in one connector.

      I guess I would want to see what is at the end of the wires that you got from the junk yard.
