      Custom Headers - Mustang

We recently had a customer that upgraded to dry sump oiling system which also required moving the starter to LH side. The original header no longer fit the new engine configuration.

Bob fabricated custom 3/8" thick steel header flanges and a 4-bolt/4" collector flange to hook up to existing exhaust system. The collector is a Hooker Super Competition Merge Collector 2-1/8" to 4".

With flanges and collector mounted in place, Bob is using 2-1/8" steel mandrel bend tubing to connect the two. Keeping in mind the RH header configuration concerning primary length, timing into collector and access/clearance to spark plugs/starter/dry sump pump/oil lines. And, the ability to remove the finished header without removing the engine or other components.

Options included an O2 sensor bung in the collector and EGT bung in #7 primary pipe. A coat of hi-temp paint and reinstall in chassis.
