AAW Tail lite sockets fall apart

The tail lite sockets for the 66 Lemans from aww pull apart and do not make contact with the ends of the bulbs. All 6 of them do the same thing. When I pull the socket out of the tail lite, the steel ground and the tail lite ends up in the tail lite assembly. then I have to pull the tail lite assembly out to get the pieces out. Anyone have a cure?

Mine for my 71 Chevelle do the same thing. The bulbs barely fit and the sockets themselves tend to fall out. I like the harness overall, but these are clearly parts of very low quality. About on par with something from a JC Whitney catalog.

Read my post on the 5 position ignition switch. If noting on the page for installation of the ignition switch is to much trouble what do you think they are going to do about CHEAP lite sockets. What I did finally was bend the 2 side pieces on the metal part of the socket and used a socket to drive it into the plastic. I took it back out and it did not fall into the tail lite housing. I will have to do the other side and when I pull it out it will probably fall into the tail lite and I will have to remove it too. Since I disturbed the gasket on the one side I have to get a new seal now and then probably another one when I paint the car.

I guess I'd still call if it were me, you never know until you try.
