      Question about steering u joint

When using the borgeson steering column u joints, are you supposed to drill a recess into the colum, dd shaft and gear box splines for the set screws? Or do you just tighten the set screws and call it a day? Thanks.

I would ABSOLUTELY drill a depression into the steering shafts where the set screws tighten. By doing so you at least have a fighting shot at catching the problem should a set screw loosen. Without that the possibility increases dramatically for something to come completely apart before you find and fix the issue.

Yep, what he said. A dab of blue Loctite doesn't hurt either , in addition to the jam nut.
