Yeah, no problem. Have at it. Glad you like them. When I run the truck I don't get to spend as much time taking photos, but I always try to carve out some time. I sat out a few events to take photos on Saturday.

      Hi Andrew
I have a ? About the Holley efi maybe you can answer . I have a 5.3 that I am putting together for an 1988 gmc trk. The truck has a 700r4 that I want to keep for now,the speedo does not work now so the torque converter does not lookup,
The ? Is there any input/output that would lockup the converter?
      Thanks
      Sorry for the hijack

      David,

      I don't know anything about the 700r4....

The Holley ECUs have many programmable input and output, but I don;t know what a 700r4 needs.

      Thanks
I will have to do some calling to the tech dept. for the info
the 700 in the 88 trk takes a signal from the speedo to lock up the converter at 50/55 mph an the speedo get its info from the tail shaft of the Trans. I am sure there is another way to do it.
I plan on a aftermarket speedo an other gauges. I was kinda hoping the Holley EFI would do it,as I want to sell the zo6 tuned computer an wiring harness that I have in favor of the Holley system
      Thanks I love your cougar

If all you need to do is send a +12v signal at a given speed you can easily do that with the HP. You would need to wire in a VSS to the HP and then program an output to be activated above a given MPH. But I am not sure that the TC lock-up is simply based on MPH...

If you went with a 4L60e, then you could get the Dominator and have 100% control over the engine and transmission functions.

The 700 has a TV cable that hooks to the throttle body to control pressure in the Trans and I thought it took a signal from the speedo to lock up the converter. That is my understanding of how they work.
The 700 is in the trk.and working ,that is why I was going to leave it.
      I have a4l60 I could put in it , 120,000 miles I also have a t56 I plan on putting in it later /
just need to make the trk. Run with the 5.3 an do up grades later, if that makes sense
      Thanks

That's not a compression fitting. It is a bulkhead fitting and I mate it to the NiCopp line by the use of a 37 degree flaring tool, tube nut, and tube sleeve. The process can be seen here:

No worries. I have also used compression fittings but have found them to loosen, especially on hard stainless lines, and on smaller diameter lines. The process in the video is my preferred method now.

My social media director for the weekend of Holley LS Fest was falling asleep on the job, but here is one video he managed to take of me going down the track...

Good help is definitely hard to find...LOL

Car hooked better than it ever has. The Caltracs work and so do the VariShock DA shocks. I bet if I put a real slick on it would pull a 1.6x 60 foot. My best at LS Fest was a 1.73...

One thing that I noticed during my trip to Bowling Green for the Holley LS Fest is that sometimes when sitting at a light, the brake pedal would slowly start to get soft. The brakes are working well and there are no external leaks, so I suspect that my $40 rebuilt master cylinder has a small internal leak. I wanted to address this before the weather got too cold and the snow starts flying, so I turned to Baer for a solution. Their new Remaster MC is totally awesome, so I made a short review video.

      Enjoy.

Woohooo!!! So I've been sucked into reading this thread start to finish for my Halloween activity and I realize there is still a lot of thread to go but after getting through 30 pages I was pretty stoked to watch this video. Ok, back to more thread reading!

EDIT: And done! Great thread. Loved the dichotomy of the effort and attention to detail in the engine contrasted against the patina of the car.

      Dan,

Is that the Ironworks built car? if so, I think we arrived at the same aesthetic independently...
