Hi folk! I just picked up an 80 D150 stepside and I'm thinking the PT look might be a nice fit. I have a 90 vette and love the way it handles and have long thought that a truck with the same road manners might be nice. I'm here to learn and see if I'm having a brain storm or cramp. As with most, money enters into the equation so I'm looking for low buck ideas. Thanks in advance.

Good to see another non-Chevy truck here. Just joined myself. I like that body style Dodge you have. I wouldn't mind one of those with the older metal grille, not sure what year they switched and how yours looks. Your ideas for mods sound good to me, but you know some Mopar people will be p.o.'ed!

What engine you have? 360, 318, bigger? slant 6?

Since you don't seem to be hung up on keeping it all Dodge/Mopar, might think about selling your Corvette for decent money and do a Crown Victoria front suspension swap and maybe a Ford Independent rear suspension. Might not handle as well as a Corvette, but better than most trucks of that time and maybe be cheaper/easier.
