The word on the street: XV Motorsports is closing its doors

      Sorry to hear it.

I was worried after a lot of their items went out of stock and stayed that way.

I'll update if I find some hard evidence.

Visited their shop while living out East. Nice place and area. Kit's seemed way over priced if you ask me. And Mopar people don't seem to modify their cars, limited market and super expensive parts.

That does suck to hear though.

Big government run amuck is what happened and still is. Only people with confidence in this country are marijuana growers currently.

While you'd be hard pressed to find someone that will honestly state that uncertainty due to .gov regulation is a problem I think the larger forces causing these closures have more to do with lower consumer confidence & less discretionary spending in general than the do with .gov regulation.

IMHO government regulation and less descretionary spending go hand in hand. I think you will see more doors closing in the future.

The government/enviro-nazis/over-regulating/welfare state creating environment DC is working very hard to create is EXACTLY the recipe for economic collapse for America. Spend, print, spend, print, spend, print debt debt debt and people will do what they are doing now, waiting for it to crumble AGAIN.

I must say us North Americans are the absolute worst......just spend spend spend..doesn't matter what it is. Neigh has a 50" tv...gotta go get a 55". Neighbor gets a new car well crap mines 4 yrs old better get a new one. We are never happy. I once say a picture on twitter of a little boy in Africa...he was happy he had clean water and food that day. Also read one that said if I had 10$ in my pocket and no debt I was richer then 90% of Americans....now how does that compare to us Canadians...I dunno. Definitely makes you think about things. I for one am someone who caries very little debt as I dont own a home and I make sure as of right now my very expensive hobby doesn't take me into debt...yet lol
To everyone take some chances...spend money..in good ways get your country rolling again, it's going to take time and money but you can do it.
Canada by no means is perfect and we certainly have our issues but, from what I know we're pointing it in the right direction. Slowly moving things along
Oh and ps...move this keystone pipeline along..we want your money for oil lol

plus alot of private investors are pulling out of the funding game.

but I notice the companies that have great customer service are doing well.

Small companies in nitch markets that have to pay themselves and employees have a tough row to hoe. Doesn't matter if it's car related or trees, plants and shrubs. Overhead-overhead-overhead.
In the 90's -mid 2000's you could get away with about anything with so much money flowing freely but, eventually it caught up with everyone.
Now you'd better have a viable product that you can deliver on time, low overhead and a wide market to survive as a small company. Pretty much back to normal business practice IMO.

I've tried dealing with XV several times for customer cars over the years. It was always a big order (5K plus) and they always were backordered on one key part. I talked every customer out of getting stuck in that trap.
I'll bet I would have bought 50K in XV suspensions over the years if they were ever completely in stock. Instead I've bought zero from them. If the doors are closing, that's why.

Not that this has anything to do with XV... but I'll bite.

Stereotypes... by the same measure I could ask if you are a Newfie... my daily driver is 14 years old, the family minivan is 6 this year. We have an old student loan and a house payment, no other debt. Currently we live off one income and any spending on the car is from savings, our lifestyle is not extravagant.

P.S. Ryan... I say build the pipeline. Creates jobs in Canada and the US. The only benefit we gain by buying oil oversees is depleting other's resources before harvesting ours, strategically that has some benefit, but I would rather the money stays on this continent.

You all can talk about XV or politics. If you choose the latter this thread will get moved to the political forum.

Don't know XV, but as popular as it is to blame "the man", Keisler went down the tubes as a direct result of mis-management, poor customer relations, and just guessing here, but dealing with his vendors and partner companies in the same way he did the public. There are a lot of things wrong in the world, but trying to hide behind that excuse as a dodge for dropping your own ball . . . is becoming an art form.
