      Transmission help

I am having a very hard time deciding on what to use for my build in terms of a transmission. Due to a previous racing accident many years ago my left leg is not as strong as it used to be. There are many standard trans with good ratios. There are fewer autos with great ratios. I have even looked into full race sequential transmissions. I do not have an additional 25 - 40K for that set up as in this video:

Comparing a 4L80E (full race manual shift only) to a Tremec Magnum by the numbers:

      4.11 - 28.2 - 8000
(final drive ratio tire height shift point)

      1st gear - 2.48 0 to 65.9
      2nd gear - 1.48 65.9 to 110.4
      3rd gear - 1.00 110.4 to 163.4
      4th gear - .75 163.4 to 217.8

      1st gear - 2.75 0 to 59
      2nd gear - 1.57 59.4 to 110.4
      3rd gear - 1.00 110.4 to 163.4
      4th gear - .75 163.4 to 217.8

      1st gear - 2.97 0 to 55
      2nd gear - 1.57 55 to 110.4
      3rd gear - 1.00
      4th gear - .75

      4.11 - 28.2 - 9000
(final drive ratio tire height shift point)

      1st gear - 2.48 0 to 74.1
      2nd gear - 1.48 74.1 to 124.2
      3rd gear - 1.00 124.2 to 183.8
      4th gear - .75 183.8 to 245.0

      1st gear - 2.75 0 to 66.8
      2nd gear - 1.57 66.8 to 124.2
      3rd gear - 1.00 124.2 to 183.6
      4th gear - .75 183.6 to 245.0

      1st gear - 2.97 0 to 61.9
      2nd gear - 1.57
      3rd gear - 1.00
      4th gear - .75

      4.11 - 28.2 - 9000
(final drive ratio tire height shift point)

      Tremec Magnum
      2.66 0 to 69.1
      1.78 69.1 to 103.3
      1.30 103.3 to 141.4
      1.00 141.4 to 183.8
      0.80 183.8 to 229.7
      0.63 229.7 to 292.7

As you can see some of the dears are only use full on the autobahn. The brake set up that I use (Wildwood 14 front and rear) needs 18 inch wheels, I was plan on using 11' on front and 13' on the back.

This is the best gear ratio calculator I have found:

      http://weddleindustries.com/gear-calculator

I am not going for top speed, had those thrills with my AA/FA. I am going for very fast 0-70 mph times.

      Ideas please.
