      69 camaro subframe

OK so I'm not sure if this is the right section for this thread but here goes. I have a 69 camaro that I am in the process of building. I bought the car all pretty assembled and then we blew it apart to send to paint. We ended up putting a new front cap on but anyways the bumpers were tucked and smoothed. Well the bumpers were lined up and looked good before going to painted. Well the car was blew apart and put on rotesserie painted... assembled and the final paint was done. The problem I have now is the bumper on the passenger has a gap on the end bumper between fender and bumper about 1/4" more than drivers side. This is leading me to believe the subframe is not installed staright because when I lifted the car the rear of subframe looks like it may need to shift maybe an 1/8" to line of perfect with the DSE subframe connectors. They lined up before. So my question is what do I need to check to be sure subframe is installed properly. If not can the subframe be shifted toward the drivers side to line up and tighten bumper gap and line up with subframe. Will this affect my alignment of sheetmetal? This is my biggest concern because paint job was expensive and everything lines up nicely except the gap on bumper. If the subframe is a little out what will it affect and how to I need to check to get it in line if not. Any help is greatly appreciated .....thanks in advance.

Loosen all the mounting bolts and you'll be able to slide it around. I don't mean real lose just enough to slide it. I'll have to look at mine to find you a reference point to cross measure for square. I'll do that later today when I get to my shop. By loosening the core support bolts you shouldn't affect your sheet metal alignment. I sent you a pm with my number might be easier to explain and answer any other questions you have. Mike

Cross measure from your lower ball joint grease fitting to a hole on your rear frame rails just in front of the front leaf spring perches. The sides of your sub frame should be about parallel with your bottom rocker seams.

Thanks this very helpful. The only problem I have is that the subframe has been welded and smoothed with most all holes gone but I can use the dimensions from mounting points to verify accuracy. Thanks guys.
