Thoughts about a Build book based wordpress theme??

I am pretty new here and this is my first post, but have been looking around for a while. I recently finished a program for graphic and web design. I am not sure if this is the right place to post this or not.

I talked with a few people I know around where I live. They have suggested the idea of coming up with a website template for a basic build book, for people that want to document there builds.

I figure the easiest way to do this would be with WordPress as it would be easier for the user to update and post on there own with out having to know how to write code.



My question is, would other be interested in something like this also? I was also looking at a way to also offer an option for either a hard copy book of the build book or a e-book version at the end of the project, if the builder wanted.

If people think this would be a good idea, what type of options and items would they like to see as part of a basic template and of a more advanced template?

Any idea's or suggestions please give them.

That sounds like a good idea to me. If you want to look thru my build thread I think you will see most aspects of what it takes to build a fully custom vehicle. From design to fabrication. The van isn't done yet but I think you will gain some perspective of the work involved. This is not a "bolt on" build this is a fully self designed and fabbed undertaking. One nice thing about using wordpress as a base for the template is that it could be adjusted for different levels and type of builds.

The big thing will be coming up with a basic layout that people will like. I am thinking that a basic blog style layout will not be to pleasing to most. I will work up a couple wireframes ( basic black and white layouts ) and post them to see what people think.

My plans are to put the basic template out to members for use if the want for free and then also add a more advanced version with more option for a small fee down the road once all the bugs are worked out.
