      Rear radiator relocation

I am building a truck and want to relocate the radiator to the rear - in the bed - better weight distribution. I need an education on this subject. Any ideas, builds, forum threads?

      Thanks in advance!

we see people do this from time to time. In order to do it well, you will be adding tubing along the frame and up into the bed, and as such, increasing capacity (which is a good thing from a cooling standpoint). The downside is you are also adding weight (both from the tubing, the coolant and the added hardware to secure it) and you are also increasing the possibility of leaks from multiple locations. the other issue is direct airflow over the cores. Unless you have access to a wind tunnel and can accurately project exactly where the air flows over the truck at various speeds and place the radiator in the exact correct location and angle, you will be forced to run fans at all times when the truck is up to operating temperature. Should a fan fail, you risk not being able to drive.

It has been done successfully many times, but we usually recommend keeping them up front for all but dedicated race vehicles.
