Gas cap door

I'm looking to put a circular gas cap door in place of my stock '68 firebird gas cap door. Where are people finding these doors? I don't want a big bulky one like you would find on Eleanor but more of a flush door. Any ideas on where I can find some options. Thanks.

Yeah I went through this a little while back and never did find exactly what I wanted. There are a lot of options out there, some cheap and some pretty expensive.

Option 1 : Buy a ridetech fuel cap and find a center section out of a 67-68 camaro tailpanel to weld in. These do look really cool but they aren't cheap $250. http://www.ridetech.com/store/access...orks-products/

Option 2: Buy a Newton fuel door or cap and modify the tail panel, you will also have to do something for the filler neck to make these work. Newton is a British company that makes a lot of cool looking fuel doors and caps. Price depends of which cap/door you get but cheapest is around $150 and some are over $300. http://www.fuelsafe.com/store/fill-p...fill-caps.html

Option 3: Look on ebay for Harley or sportbike gas caps and doors. There are some cool looking options out there and you can get these pretty cheap too. Of course you will have to modify the tail panel and filler neck. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BOLT-IN-AIRC...d29589&vxp=mtr

Option 4: Find a used aircraft fuel door on ebay. These are hit and miss, sometimes you can find a good deal and there are some really cool ones out there.

Option 5: Just get rid of the fuel door all together and buy a 69 firebird fuel tank. This puts the filler neck right behind the license plate. You could then fill in the tail panel and put a custom firebird emblem or whatever in the center.

Before you buy a cap make sure to get dimensions. There's not a lot of room between the bumper and the trunk lock. Seems like every time I found a fuel door I liked it was a little too big.
