      DSE wipers wiring

I am installing a DSE wiper motor setup in my 77 Z28. I'm not in love with their harness. I already plan to put a connector after the switch so I can remove the I/P. they intend for their whole harness to be under the dash, then run the 5 wiper motor wires through the firewall, with a ground and 12g/30 amp circuit to be hooked up under the dash. I don't even have a good 30 amp circuit under the dash to use so that is one more wire I need to run through the firewall.

Has anyone ever spliced into the factory wiper harness when using the DSE setup? Seems like the way to go, the wires are already there going through the firewall.

If I traced it right, the wiring DSE harness diagram:

this is the stock washer & wiper circuits in the car now that I will no longer be using.

So I think I can repurpose the current wiring and keep the power wires under the hood if I do this. Then I do not have to run anything through the firewall

Thoughts? I'm checking my sanity lol
