Rack and Pinion in 64 chevelle!

Hey guys i am all new here, i just found out I'm getting a 64 chevelle! good news yes but now I'm gonna throw some money at it. I plan on using Strong Arms, Shock Waves, and Ride Tech drop spindles for the front setup. my questions here are:

1.Are there more economical drop spindles?
2.can i retro fit a late model rack and pinion? (I'm very comfortable fabbing) or do i have to spend 1500 on a kit?

Thanks guys! I see some pretty awesome builds i look forward to getting involved in the pro touring game.

      1. No......maybe, but probably not. If you are using the ridetech stuff don't muck it up by changing spindles.

      2. Don't bother spending the time or money. Get a good steering box from DSE, Borgeson, Lee, etc.

Rack and Pinion in 64 chevelle!

Nope! Boise Idaho. The car is out of stevens point Wisconsin it's been in a garage since 82. So the body is solid besides the dude who owned it in the 70's riveted and bondo'd truck wheel flares to the quarters... :/
