      which mini tubs

      Hello everyone,
I did do a search of old posts just to make sure that i am not posting the same old questions as before, so do stone me if i am by accident. I have a 1969 firebird ls/t56 combo and just picked up the heidts 4-link kit with 9". Here is my question. I wounder if it were even possible to be able to run DSE tubs or will i have to go with Dynacorn tubs. I know this kit bolts to the frame rails, but didnt know if DSE tubs could be installed and heidts brackets modified/ use counter sunk hardware to achieve that nice 335 tire package. This is a daily driver/autox car.

On a first gen F-Body, Dynacorn and DSE tubs both add 2.75" to the inner wheel tub. They will both cut into the frame rail. Your best bet would probably be to widen your stock tubs the old way with a 2" strip of metal. If you don't mind modifying the heidts bracket, you can make it work with the DSE or Dynacorn tubs

regal454 was right on the mark with his explanation. The Heidt's brackets would need to be modified to use either of the tubs as they wrap over both sides of the frame rails. So, it is possible, but not without some extra fabrication.
