Is This True About 69-72 Front Disc Brake Offset?

I saw this on another forum.

"The 3/8" dimension comes from comparing the rare 66 disc brake set up to what they are offering. The difference is only 3/8" (.375) pushed out. However, when you compare to the drum brake the chevelle style of brakes will push the wheels out 5/8" (.625)."

I am using the GM 69-72 style front disc brake conversion so are my wheels out 5/8" over the factory drum brake setup? This is on a 65 Buick Skylark. So, if I changed over to a Wilwood kit that says the offset is .239" would my wheels move back in 3/8".

If so that would be good news and another reason to purchase new brakes. With the 245/45ZR17 tires up front they barely clear the front fender lip and under some circumstances will rub.
