      Automatic Battery Disconnect

Hey guys, has anyone used one of these? I was thinking about installing one of these on my car as a security feature and to also disconnect the battery when the car is sitting in the garage.

I guess nobody has used this one.

If you guys were to install a battery disconnect which one of these would you install? Is there an advantage over one or the other?

One like this? http://www.jegs.com/i/Painless+Perfo...30204/10002/-1 This one I could put a toggle switch under the dash.

Or one like this? http://www.jegs.com/i/Flaming+River/...05LED/10002/-1 With this one I would install in the trunk next to the battery which has been relocated to the trunk. I would need to open the trunk to turn off and on. Also, I have an M.A.D Electrical remote starter solenoid setup in the trunk to only charge the starter wire when I'm starting the car.

I put one similar to this on my truck a few years ago. It has a remote that will turn it on and off and there is a button to do the same thing on the unit. It automatically disconnects when the battery gets low. Mine was made by Braille.

      Automatic Battery Disconnect

I'm going with one from AAW, but I can't pass judgement. What I liked about it is that it uses a circuit breaker rather than a fuse and it also has Lifeline that allows the computer and other electronics to stay energized even while the battery is disconnected.

Steve, do you have the part numbers for the AAW one you are looking at?

500834 Remote Disconnect and 500837 remote Lifeline. Again, not sure it is the same class of product you're looking for, but check it out.
