Power Nation versus Power Block on Spike!

Just struggled through 2 hours of the "NEW" Power Nation on Spike. You know the "Power Nation" that's the replacement for the old "Power Block".
The Power Nation is still ALL hype and NO content just like the Power Block!

You can shuffle the host's between the shows, change the name of the shows and it STILL does not change the fact that the "NEW" Power Nation is just like the old Power Block.

1 hour and 45 minutes of commercials/product promotion and 15 minutes of actual interesting car work. I gave the Power Nation a chance and disappointment is STILL the name of the game.

Thank God for that wonderful TV innovation called the REMOTE CONTROL!

If you happened to see the thread regarding the show, it wasn't meant to change. There was a network dispute/contract problems. The show changed the name and left spike tv. Later Spike came crawling back and now they air shows on Sunday. Same shows...different names

I just watch them on dvr. I can get through four episodes in about 40 minutes or so. Ian's show is the furthest from my genre but seems the least commercialized and I like what he has to offer. The engine assemblies are pretty good. I am not sure what people expect, they don't have a broad audience so I can't imagine their budget is v wry big without the niche sponsors they have.

Its still the same shows with a smaller budget. For a while it wasn't even on Spike and had moved to premium NBS and CBS sports stations. But since so many people didn't get those stations and weren't willing to pay extra for them the brought it back to Spike.

I actually like it better so far. The straight 6 Ford rebuild and extensive machine shop coverage was great and something you wouldn't have seen before. The shows are still much better than the competition of '2 Guys Garage' and 'Truck U'.

Say what you want, I have picked up a lot of tips, tricks and how to's from these and shows like them. Both our builds have benefited. Gearz is coming to Mavtv.

i love 4x4 or offroad what ever it is called now. ian does a great job informing people how to accomplish things themselves. hell watching his show inspires people to go outside their comfort zone/ learn new skills !
horsepower tv show's some good tips every once in a while, but they make the show seem like a giant advertisement. muscle car is good, they explain a lot of details in bodywork

The DVR is my friend. Time travel! I don't think I watch anything 'live' anymore. The commercials are too time consuming.
