Welcome to the site! If your getting into racing your going to need a lubrication company that you can depend on. AMSOIL is an industry leader and has been paving the way for many years. I would be happy to work with you and answer questions if you have any. The best of luck on your new hobby and remember hobbies are supposed to be fun! www.jacobehlers.com

You know that follows suit with lots of AMSOIL customers. 50% of people that use AMSOIL in power sports don't use it in there vehicles. The main reason I have heard is that people feel they can afford to spend a little more on toys then the rest of there stuff. Seems funny that lots of folks I do business with would never put anything but AMSOIL in their Harley but have never considered it in their DD. So I will ask you where do you get the oil for the dirt bikes? Do you receive the monthly AMSOIL magazine?

I would ditch the hydro roller & lifters - or look into the short travel lifters. If your going racing, focus on the heads & Valve train stability.. You probably could get the motor to produce solid numbers with domed pistons - no spray - if everything is forged get the rest of the car sorted out and shook down then look at spraying it down the line

-6cc flat tops will give you a compression ratio around 11.8 with a .040 gasket, a little high for pump gas. If you havnt purchased anything yet, take a look a weingartner racing or straub technologies and get the entire top end matched for the build. If you already some but not all parts, those guys will help you with the rest to ensure the engine performs as desired. Good luck and have fun!! The Chevelle Forum is a good place to get the info your looking for and they welcome non chevelle guys.
