      Lateral G Net

I feel kind of stupid, but I just stumbled on that site. Seems like a lot of the same members post there too.

How long has that been around ?

Couple of years now. It's run by Scott Gulbranson. It started out slow but over the past year has really grown. He's done a great job with it. Kinda the Pro-Touring site of the Midwest. Yes...a bunch of us are members of both boards, as well as Team Camaro.

Yep it has been around awhile. Scott is doing a tremendous job with the site and the growth shows no signs of slowing down.

We all get along real well and Lateral-G is another great site that many of us are on and sponsor one way or another. Scott has busted his butt on that site and its really starting to get noticed. My 3 favorite sites (in no specific order) are Pro-Touring, Lateral-G, and LS1tech. All 3 great sites loaded with some of the best people I have ever met in my life.

I got to both sites more than a few times a day (when I have time)..

It is nice that both sites get along so well..

I go to pt.com lat-g.net and ls1tech.com .. at least for car info..

When I first reviewed lateral-g.net my impression was the same. A duplicate of pro-touring. However as I continue to visit Scott's site it does have its suttle differences.

pro-touring - Top of the line forum. The best I have seen on the internet for car enthusiast. Members have great knowledge and will give you honest opinions, good or bad. A very enjoyable group of people to chat with. A whole lot of laughs also.

lateral-g - The home page is excellent. The car section is a inspiration for others. You can get great press coverage of your own car on his site. It seems to be a much smaller forum, yet everyone gets along.

I wonder how many members are listed on both sites?

      My two cents.

Lateral-g.net is a great site. Scott's working hard to make it it more magazine like. So you can tune in every month and learn in detail about the cars, the people and the companies that make pro-touring great.

September's cover story is a great example:

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I've been a loooong time member of PT.com (I think I was member #180 or there abouts way back in the summer of 2001, back when you'd go a day or more between posts. I now keep a low profile over here as I don't want to cause any problems, conflict of interest, give the appearance of an alterior motive, etc.

Larry and I have met in person a few times, have talked on the phone, and e-mail each every so often. I have A LOT of respect for what Larry has done. Larry has helped me out with Lateral-g and I donated to Larry's wedding fund and I still wear my PT.com t-shirt.

I didn't start my own site to compete with Larry, I just just grew from my love of the g-machine movement. The way I look at it, the more content there is on the internet that covers the Pro-Touring/g-machine movement, the stronger we, as a group, become.

I agree with Scott, the more content we have the better we will all be. I too have a lot of respect for Scott and Lateral-g.net. It's a great site. We do talk once in a while and I hope you (Scott) can make our dinner. I'm glad to hear you are still sporting your PT shirt and I as soon as I lose enough weight I'll be sporting a Lateral-g shirt as well. lol. Thanks for the wedding gift Scott (and everyone else's). I hope the donation I sent last December made it to you as well.

The site looks great and the whole magazine feel is a great idea. We to are working on a content management system that will turn the site into like an online magazine and with any luck the software will be up an running in a few weeks on our new server.
