      1969 Chevy Caprice

      Hi there.
New on the board. I'm from Norway and am currently building a 69 Chevy Caprice. Don't know if I can call it Pro Touring, but it's getting modified a bit to handle and drive better.

My grandpa actually baught this car new in North Dakota, shipped it to Norway in 71 and sold it in 75. I tracked it down a few years ago and baught it.

The car is a 69 Caprice 4 drht. Original LS1 427 that was missing when I baught it. It was originally LeMans blue, but had been repainted dark purple and had a huge hole in the hood for a planned compressor that was never done.

Decided I wanted to some modifications to get it how I wanted.
      some of the modification:
ridetech Stage 2 with front and rear MusclBars
      Strange 9" rear end.
      TCI TH400 Streetfoghter tranny
      Wilwood front and rear discs
      AGR steering box

      engine:
      454 block bored .030
      Scat forged stroker kit
Edelbrock topend kit (aluminum heads and intake)
      Holley 870 Street avenger carb
      MSD ignition Hooker headers
      TruTrc belt system
      489cid, 9,0:1, dyno tested 528hp and 543lb/ft

      Here's some pics.

How I saw it the first time. I had never seen this car before since grandpa sold it way before I entered this world. Buy or not to buy, that was the question. Of course I had to buy it!

Off to the bodyshop. My first plan was to get the bodywork done and painted, put the car back together and use it, but that didn't happen.

The closest to done it was.

Under the body. Removed all the old junk with heating gun and scrape and then degreaser and wirebrush. Found lots of rust so have been installing new sheat metal.

This is where I am now. Future plans will be to get done welding under the body, clean up the firewall and paint the underside and the firewall LeMans blue. Then figure out Vintage Air setup, electrical harness, paint the inside of the car, install the airride system, clean up the trunk and then just mount everything together. Sounds like a quick fix, right? Hahahaha
