      Using late model OE radiator?

I am looking into a radiator for my '68 Charger with a '09 5.7L Hemi rite now. Of course there are high dollar custom ($600+ for some of em) ones available to bolt into my car and have the inlets where I need them but I keep reading about issues....ya know where there are no cooling issues? On the stock applications. I can pick up a stock replacement radiator for a Hemi Ram for around $150 and it will fit dimensionally into my rad support, I will just need to make some brackets so it fits in nicely which I can do in probably 2-3 hours. Can anyone come up with a good argument for not doing this? Because I can't and wanted to run it by you guys before picking one up

I'm running a 1 row mid 90's v8 mustang radiator in my 65 Falcon with a 400hp 331. So far it's cooling just fine. If I start having problems I will go to a 2 row.

      I say do it.

No reason not to as far as I can see. If it works in an OEM app then you should be fine. Are you running an auto? Maybe bypass the internal trans cooler if you are (or get a rad for a manual trans) and run a big external cooler.
Does it have plastic tanks? Just a note, My '00 Monte Carlo SS had an overheating issue with the trans this last summer. The internal cooler coil had collapsed inside the radiator. Did a bypass and replaced it with an external cooler and have had no issues with it since. That is about the only problem I can see with a composite radiator.

Sounds good, thanks for the advise. I am running a manual trans so no concern about that cooler. The stock rad does have plastic tanks. There was only a manual trans available in 1 very rare model Ram. I need to look into ones from an R/T or SRT Challenger with manual trans
