I would like to know if it would be worth it to buy a '95 firehawk t56 tranny. The guy is selling it for $750. Says it has been rebuilt. It will be going into my '67 Deuce with a '03 6.0. Besides the tunnel needing modifying it should bolt up? Thanks for help in advance.

I believe that by the time you rebuild it,get a ls motor bell housing, shifter, tranny crossmember, clutch etc it might just be cheaper to find one already rebuilt or hit up tremec for a t56 magnum. You may also need to modify the driveshaft and exhaust. The tranny tunnel will need a bunch of work and of course work on the console
I may have made it sound like it's alot of work...and, it is but can be done easily there is lots of people and companies out there who can help. Look into Hurst driveline conversions they did have a "kit" which you can pick and choose your necessary parts to fit your car

      This wont work together.

You need a 98 LS1 or newer trans.
The 95 is LT1 style, bolting to a Gen1 small block.

You can have the LS1 style input and other parts added to the older trans though.
Some have done it that way.

The magnum is the one I was planning on getting but a good deal caught my attention. The tunnel mod is something I have read about already, just the application is the one I was wondering about. I guess I'm going to pass on this one. I'm going to look up Hurst driveline up tonight. Thanks for the replies.

That's an LT1 T56, which has a relatively short (5.5" or so) input shaft, and no provision for a concentric (to the input shaft) hydraulic throw-out bearing. I don't think it's going to be a simple bolt-on.

Oops, didn't see the answers above before I started typing.

It's all good. Appreciate all the help. I will post up as soon as I get some time after the holidays to start working on it. Trying to get parts and research as much as possible.
