      My 1971 Camaro Project

      Hey All,

Been here as a member for a while. I want to go ahead and show my car and what I've done with it. Rather than post all the pictures, here's a few teasers and the thread I made over at nastyz28

      http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=241037

Here is the day I picked it up as a shell with a clear title for $1200. The owner also gave me a new core support and a bunch of autobody sandpaper.(he worked for 3M)

I had a 1976 Camaro I was working on, so I scrapped the car but kept all of the essential stuff (interior, subframe, rear end) to transfer over to my 71.

Where I am at right now, I have replaced some floor sheetmetal, one quarter, tailpanel, cowl, rear cowl, trunk area....so all of the metal work is done....just working on gaps and front sheetmetal right now

You have to post more progress pictures to get people more involved.

What are plans for the suspension and brakes?

By the way, your garage looks like mine even down to the Camaro.

Was going over your build thread on the other site and found that you are using the quick connects for the fuel line. It has been discussed over time that these fail rapidly and it is best to swap for the following

Russell Push-On EFI Fittings 644113 (5/16 in. to -6 AN)
Russell Push-On EFI Fittings 644123 (3/8 in. to -6 AN)

Also this pic shows your brake line to be extremely short.

Don't worry about people commenting, I went through the same on my thread.

Probably good to catch stuff now BEFORE a catastrophic failure!

GM HT383, MiniRam EFI, AFR heads

On that brake line I've changed the springs out and that gave it a little more slack. There's no weight from the front cap, bumpers, hood, etc on the front in that pic and the front end is sitting higher up in the air than normal. Those are supposed to be factory type brake lines, but I will double check when I get the car back

Not sure what you mean on those fittings...unless you were looking at earlier pictures I AM using those fittings, had them on my car for a few years now

yeah I think that's a common theme on garages lol..

I linked my build thread??, And even post some pics in this thread the day I made it with no initial expressed interest

But I guess that wasn't enough for most.

Right now stock, I just want to get the car running and driving and the upgrades like that will come a little later
