Disadvantages of Wheel spacers?

I got my 18x10 and 18x8 Bonspeed wheels and my wheels locked up on my rack and pinion on the 69 Cam. It sucks! Going to have to use wheel spacers or try using smaller tie rod joints on the rack and pinion assembly.



I already ordered the spacers to give me more back spacing. If I had the stock front suspension I would have never had this problem with the backspacing.

Any thoughts on using wheel spacers? I'm probably gonna have to use about a 1/4" thick spacer.
