Tips for an 8.5 build up

I have posted a few times about an 8.8 or a 9 inch swap and people keep saying to build up the 8.5. Well, I finally verified that I do indeed have an 8.5 10 bolt in my 74 Firebird. It is an open diff. So, I am open to suggestions as to how to build this thing up. I would appreciate recommendations on a Posi. Since I am changing out the diff, I will be getting 30 spline axles. I would assume most would recommend welding the axle tubes up. What about C-clip eliminators? I plan to do my own research, but surely somebody has a good recipe for an 8.5. I am hoping not to break the bank, but I don't want to build this and break it and then have to invest in a 9 inch, so within reason I want to do it right.
