The blue on the fenders is oriental blue candy. The engine was painted with cobalt blue candy. I'm not happy with the style of the 2 colors painted over the silver and plan on doing something different. I haven't decided yet but it will either be two toned with cobalt blue on the top or just a cobalt blue pinstripe along the top of the fenders the full length of the car.

I'm using a pair of GM Performance valve covers on the engine. I painted them off the motor and used factory covers instead of tape over the rockers.

Thanks, I really like the way they look on the car.

I repainted the firewall. The seam sealer that was used on the top seam had shrunk and cracked. The paint was peeling and it didn't look the best. This also allowed me to paint the bottom of the trans tunnel where the sheet metal was massaged to fit the T56 transmission. With the firewall painted I can start installing parts.

I also painted some small parts while doing the firewall.
I disassembled the steering column completely to clean, paint and re-grease everything. Its a good thing I had it apart because the lower bearing had let loose at some time in its life and was sawing through the steering shaft. Who knows how long it would have lasted before it cut the rest of the way through?
This was an automatic column so I shaved and filled the shift lug on the column collar. Nice and smooth now.

I ordered an air ride controller from Ride Tech when they had their black friday sale so the wireless remote was thrown in for free. Hard to pass up a deal like that.
Today I mounted and wired the solenoids and controller to an aluminum 3 gallon tank. Nice tight little package now. The tank will get mounted on the hump behind the back seat.

I took the seats in to an upholstery shop 2 weeks ago. It sounds like its going to be a long wait to get them back. I chose to stay with the factory bench seat. I want to have the seats built up with foam for bolsters on each side to keep a person planted in the seat better. I just wish upholstery shops weren't backed up all the time.

I'm also waiting for the trans to get rebuilt. The builder told me that some of the parts are on back order from Tremec. I hope its done soon because I would like to get the engine in so I can start hanging the front sheet metal.

I had the bumpers rechromed by a company in Milwaukee called Exclusive Metal Finishing. Cost was $1100 and they picked them up and dropped them off at my shop. They had them less than a month. I was shocked they had them finished so fast. I was expecting it to take 2 or 3 months.
