      1968 Firebird 400 hood

I plan on buying a new 400 hood.
After looking on line I found many different manufactures of the 400 hood. Not a big surprise. I assume they are all from the same stamping but sold to different companies.
I stumbled across a website that had four different options for the 400 hood.
      http://www.restorationperformance.co...let/StoreFront
The four brands were Goodmark,Dynacorn,AMD, and OER.
After talking to a rep he commented that they sold more of the Dynacorn hoods and had good luck with them.
He also commented that more than likely they were all made at the same place, but was not positive.
      The price varied from $365.95-343.92-306.95-269.96.

Has anyone bought an aftermarket hood lately? And if so do you remember what brand it was and how it fit?
      Thanks Rob

I put the Goodmark hood on mine about 10 years ago. I have had no complaints.

Do you live close to the place? Is so drive there and look at them. My understanding is the newer dynacorn stuff is decent. AMD is supposedly really good. I can tell you my Goodmark quarters aren't too bad, but could be better. I wouldn't get too caught in price. Many think that high cost is high quality.

No I do not live close. I'm not stuck on the price just want the best hood. If there is even a difference. I agree that the price might be misleading. They commented that the AMD parts are very high quality. But did not o first hand what the hood was like.

I don't remember what brand the hood I bought for my 67 is, either Dynacorn or Goodmark, but I recently bought an AMD hood for my 69. They are definitely not the same. The AMD hood is a little heavier than the other, which seems to be what people say about most of AMD's panels. Also the AMD hood has the detail on the edges where it sits on the rubber pieces on the fenders. The other hood is straight on the edges and I had to bend them to fit around those rubber pieces so it would close properly.
