      16 volt battery?

After some searching on the forum, it doesnt appear that many or any people run a 16 volt system. Can anyone tell me why? I know that 16v is far superior for cranking.

Most automotive electronics are only designed to operate in a certain voltage range, 16v being a little on the high side, if not over the recommended range.
With high tq starters and ignition retard modules, I dont see a need for more cranking power from voltage.

And correct me if Im wrong (been a while since Ive broken out the EE notebook), but assuming everything else is the same in a 12v system compared to a 16v system, you would have more amperage being drawn by a starter in the higher voltage system, which might require an even larger battery to starter cable.

      16 volt battery?

Far superior for cranking? A lot of the builds here are street cars with under 12:1 compression so the need for anything more than a high torque starter isn't big.

And everything else that Vette427 said
