A quick shout out for ATS spindles

Just a heads up, Speedtech/ATS has now upgraded our forged spindles! Rather than the C5 hubs we were using we'll now be installing the 2013 ZR1 Corvette hubs into both our standard height and tall spindles. Some of the advantages are:

Larger bearings that have more balls, literally.

30% Thicker wheel mounting flange that can handle more abuse.

Large variety of brake package options.

They're engineered for the top of the line ZR1 Corvette, so they ought to be good enough for for a pro-touring car, right? ;)

Best part about it is that we're now providing an even better product without raising the cost at all to the consumer. How cool is that?

      We have spindles available for Camaros/ F Body, Chevelles/ A Body, Novas/ X Body, G Bodies, and 94-96 Impala SS/ B Body. Check it out at- www.speedtechperformance.com

So can C5/6 stuff still be used? I sure hope so.

I just looked up ZR1 Rotors, pads and calipers....and I literally laughed out loud at the price tag. $9,000.00 for pads rotors and calipers?? LOL Who buys that?

$9k for carbon ceramic brakes is a steal. Cheapest you'll find anywhere... the rotors weigh like 12 lbs each IIRC.

Ben, that's a cool upgrade. Nice benefit without a price increase!

The only ZR1 part are the hubs. They are interchangeable with standard C5/6 units, but are of higher quality. The ZR1 hubs are used by most C5/6 drivers that track their cars on a regular basis.

As for brakes, all C5/6 variations are compatible, this includes standard C5, C6, Z51, C6Z06, ZR1, or any aftermarket system that is designed for C5/C6s. ZR1 brakes are NOT required, but are an option. That's the beauty of these spindles!!!

      Nick-

The same guy that buys a ZR1 and tears his brakes up on the road course, lol! Wish I just had the $ in that guy's change jar...

Haha, I hear ya on the change jar. Whats crazy....the ZR1 itself is a steal compared to Lambo's, Ferraris, etc!!

I honestly figured they were interchangeable but I had to ask. I hadn't ever priced carbon discs and I about fell out of my chair when I saw them.

I know some of the people involved in that hub, and its a beauty. Its a lot stonger than the old ones and has a MUCH lower failure rate.
