Offset Shackles and Gas Tanks

Hey guys,

I have a ricks tank in my car, it measures 36" in width... I was thinking of going with offset shackles, is this a possibility with a 36" tank? I know the offset shackles do not work with a stock tank but is it close enough that the difference between 38 3/8" and 36 will allow this to work?



In other words, how much do the offset shackles come in contact with the stock tank.
