64 A Body Max Tire Width

Having a hard time deciding on the tire rim combo for this my 64 Cutlass. Goal with the car is to lower it down and make it a nice cruiser. And yeah, cost is a factor. Current plan is 18x8 BS 4.5 with 255/40/18 for front and rear. I think the 255/40 won't be an issue for the rear, but I'm curious if anyone knows if I'd have problems rubbing up front. I have considered 17's up front but all pics I've seen with the 18's look better. I'd like to be able to rotate all 4 but if I need to stagger the sizes I can.
