      5 Week Thrash for SEMA

Hello! My best friend and I opened our new shop 3 months ago. Shortly after, we accepted a challenge to to help our company grow. We are on board to handle the final fitment, body work, and paint, for the Allison Customs built 1964 Chevelle, owned by Rob Kibbe of The Muscle Car Place.com. The car is being delivered from New Mexico. We will have 5 weeks to take this 500hp LS3 powered, DSE equipped beast from raw metal to a perfect finish. It will then return to Jeff Allison for final assembly to be done in a few short weeks! Finally, it will go on to be displayed at the Ron Francis Wiring booth at SEMA 2013. Log on to www.allisoncustomsonline.com to see jeff's work and the back story of the Chevelle. Also, check out www.themusclecarplace.com for in depth descriptions of the build by Rob Kibbe himself as well as many amazing interviews with industry greats on his radio show Cars for a Living.

A special thanks from us to Dan Giustino of Muscle Express for his recommendation. He is one of the Chevelle Build Sponsors along with:
      Allison Customs
      National Parts Depot
      Detroit Speed & Engineering
      Wilwood Engineering
      IDIDIT
      Karl Performance
      Speartech fuel injection Systems
      Muscle Express
      Vintage Air
      Hurst Driveline Conversions
      Redline Gauge Works
      Recaro
      Ron Francis Wiring

We are working everyday of the week for 12 to 16 hours. Spare time is non existent in our lives right now so if you are interested in following our progress, follow us on facebook. We are posting progress pics and updates daily. I only have time to step back and snap a pic on my phone, then put it on our facebook page and go back to working! We are performing a completely thorough process to obtain a high quality finish that lasts. We welcome all questions and comments as well. The Chevelle is back in New Mexico and almost complete. We thoroughly photo documented all of our work on the facebook page. It leaves Saturday morning for Vegas. We will be standing next to it this time next week. Stop by and check it out!

Not trying to be a smart ass here, but I don't understand.

The SEMA show dates are well known far far in advance so why are there so many last minute thrashes to get projects ready to display? Do people just not plan their projects well or do they decide at the last minute to build a display?

      I just don't get it.

You are exactly correct and I couldn't agree more! It seems like normal practice to get into that situation for projects going to SEMA. We ended up working 50 days straight at 16 hours a day to get it done. Originally, we we're going for 5 weeks but it ended up being longer because we were not willing to compromise our quality for one event when Rob would own this car forever. We just opened our shop when approached about the project and knew it would be an opportunity to get the word out quickly. Now would be the time to start on a car full time to have ready for next year!

      killer Camaro btw!

Thanks Edd Upp for following and we appreciated all your comments along the way.

Thank you so much.. We hope so too! We are a brand new shop but we have been doing our level of work a long time. We hope that is eventually realized by many. It is either Pandora or POD casts in our shop as well! Very cool stuff on your site from your shop!
