      Custom dash

Took some pictures of the dash I made for my car. Most of it was made from sheet metal. The pad was made from expandable foam.

Interior will be charcoal gray. I also plan to replace the steering wheel and add an vintage air system at some point.

Just wanted to get some opinions about the look.. anyone have any suggestions?

I like it. What kind of car is it? Got any in-progress pics of the creation?

I would really like to think it's a 69 Chevelle since I'm about to start on my own sheetmetal 69 velle dash.. but the center AC vent looks wrong for a 69 as does the general shape of the dash.

Its a 69 camaro. The center section along with the drivers side area of the dash was changed.

I'll try to get some more pics.

Any ideas what he used to cover the foam? Is that vinyl? What kind of adhesive won't melt foam? Was it the gap filling foam in a can? I know, I know, 20 questions. I took my factory dash pad and peeled the vinyl off and used the gap filling foam, but it did'nt turn out very good. The gap foam was very sticky and hard to work with, I was just wondering if there was an easier way? Sorry about the grilling, I would prefer to repair my pad because they want like 200 bucks for a new one.

Great job! I love charcoal grey... I did my interior in a two-tone black/charcoal.

      Novaman,

I've found that DAP "WeldWood" works pretty well with foam... and boy does it stick!
