Cold air makes more HP than Hot air.

A low restriction, well designed air filter makes more Horsepower than a poorly designed, restrictive filter.

The purpose of Cowl induction is that the base of the windshield is a high pressure area of a moving car, as is the grille or under the front bumper, in front of the radiator.

If a "Cold air" or "Cowl Induction" system is optimized, it would be hard to see a performance difference between the two.
