      Custom sway bar arms

This might better fit in the fabrication forum ... oh well.

I'm using a NASCAR splined shaft front sway bar on II Much. However, when I go to put the radiator in, it wants space currently occupied by the sway bar. I've moved the bar and everything fits now, but what would be a simple bending of swaybar arms is turning out to be a lot more than that. I've made a couple of sheetmetal prototypes that fit nicely, but I'm having some trouble getting real ones bent or fabbed. So here I am. I'm really missing my friend Brian (who's gone off and left me to pursue higher education at NC Charlotte ).

I've included some pics of the problem. The steel bar needs to be bent about 10 degrees more the hard way, and a pair of 50 degree bends the easy way. The aluminum bar (dark anodized in the pics) is the right angle, but doesn't have enough offset. If I could get a couple of chunks of aluminum machined for the steel spline insert, I could easily do the rest of the machining myself. But I'm not having much luck with that either.

Anybody got any ideas? Know somebody who could machine some aluminum "blanks" with the spline part?

      thanks!
