I can bring the car anywhere. I spoke to the speed shot in Rockford.
We could probably do it for around 8k if you pull the body. Media

blasting is going to run about 1k..Hopefully the sheet metal is in good

shape. We could schedule you in for winter, but we would need to know

soon.. We are filling up for the winter.

      Is this about average?

We have a body shop attached to our shop that is amazing. The owner is obsessive compulsive and won't let it out the door til tits perfect. They do ALL the highend restos around here. I can get you the contact info if you want. They did a jag that was 120k in body work alone a year or so ago.

Found a guy in Downs IL, He said if I keep it red it will run around 4K and if I want to change the color it will be around 8k. Now the tough decision. I like red and I think for the cost savings it would be best to keep it red. Now do I stripe it? Cowl hood? Rear spoiler?
Do you think that no cowl hood and no spoiler looks cleaner?
      Any suggestions?

I know a good guy who is in Crown Point, In. He has done some trophee winning cars and works in a shop on his property. He was recently in a Mopar magazine for some rare car he restored for a customer. His prices are very reasonable.

Try Brad King at Quality Auto Body in Freeport, IL. (West of Rockford about 20 miles) He painted my car and his quality is excellent. My paint job is 21 years old and still looks better than most "Newer" paint jobs.

If you want Black.....The best in the country, and this will stir some crap with the previous statement, is Denny Sweetwood in Forreston, IL. Very Xpensive.....Flawless, mile deep black is his trade mark. He's done mainly Street Rods and Corvettes, but everyone walks away shaking their head at the paint. He is THAT good.

Another Wayne Malot - Columbia Missouri - He has a state of the art facility and has a reasonable priced service.

If you are still in the market for a bodyshop , I would give Larry a call at Body Werks, located in Skokie Illinois. Shop number is (847) 675-2639

I took my 55 over their this past weekend , and was pleased with his shop , attitude , etc. Quoted me a fair price to get some minor bodywork done. Does lots of imports, along with high end exotic cars.

I wouldnt trust the 4K to keep it red 8K to change it. If you doing it right the labor and materials should be the same unless its some custom color.
