Rear seat close out panels 1st Gen Camaros

      Gents,

we should have our sponsor adds up anytime now, and I will be showing you some products here in the next few days....as long as Larry doesnt get too busy..maybe week next.

Anyway, wanted to get an idea of how many members would be interested in close out panels that go behind the rear seat area, to be more detailed in the trunk cross brace that seperates the trunk from the cab.

You would get 5 seperate pieaces, that fit into the larger openings of that brace, laser cut. The gauge will be between 20-24, they need to flex to fit the contours. You could expoxy them in, our screw or make them removable. But once installed, undercoat plus and or Dynamat and you have an area of your car sealed off from more noise and fumes.

If I get enough interest from memebers we can sell these sets at 65.00. Ive done these myself in a few hours, but if I could buy them for that price I would have and used my 3-4 hours somewhere else.

Let me know what you think. If other GM models share the same trunk x member as the 1st Gen, feel free to state years models.

      Bob

I would definitely be interested in a rear firewall; it would save me a lot of time fabricating one myself. But the factory rear braces aren't so pretty...I'd rather have them hidden than visible. Maybe some pictures to see how they're incorporated?

      Steve,

Ill get some pics posted before Friday, It will just be the inserts in their raw fourm. Once in, Ill Lizard skin both sides, and Dynamat the interior side. As far as seeing that brace from the trunk, you could close it out, there are pleanty of trunk kits out there, and audio guys that would know what to do with that space. But I do understand your point.

Very timely post. I would be interested too provided they will work with mini-tubs.

I made a set myself earlier this year, definitely would have bought some, sounds like a great idea for a product. Just should be some minor differences on the two outer closeouts for mini-tubbed vs stock.

      Bob,
I just finished up my Dynamat installation in the rear seat area and I was contemplating a fix for all those open areas myself. Maybe something along the lines as Ed did to his Sleeper project. However, if there is a kit that fits at that good of a price I too would be interested. As everyone has stated you just have to get some photos up here. They will probably sell themselves after that. Thanks.

To all with interest,....sorry for the delay, panels are done and primed...just need to shoot a couple of photos. I had planned to have the photos up last Friday, but forgot I had military drill Fri-Sun....So I promise Ill get these up. Their nothing super special, but can save a guy some time and seal off the noise that radiates through the trunk. Cant say it will be air tight for you audio guys, but with a little work I sure you'll reach that goal with these.

Your still going to see the X-member, but the holes will be filled.....photos may be up in the morning.

      Thanks Bob

      Ed,

pretty much thats it...the only portion I didnt make is the smallest openings right next to the wheel wells...the customer can decide what they want to to do there....their pretty small. I see yours are covered though.

I like the idea of making these removeable, but again the customer is going to have to decide how he wants to attach and or cover the panels, as you know every build is different. Your install looks pretty air tight, this close out really opens up the audio options for decent sound.

Let us know how the noise level is once your done.....Im wondering if Nova's share the same X-brace....hmmmmm

OK, here are some pics...not much different then what ED is showing. These are primered, but will ship raw. You can attach and install how you want, depending on you build and goals.

Let me know if we need to make some sets of these.

      Thanks Bob

      Thanks Ed,

but really no different then yours Im sure.....but the ones for sale will be laser cut, a tad smoother.

Just waiting to see the interest.

      Alright Gents,

we are going to go ahead and make 5 sets of these for now, I'm hoping by the end of next week...more then likely sooner. Keep in mine, there may need to be slight trimming do to customer cars being different, not from production, but from accidents, racing and or new replacement parts. Nothing major as far as trimming, but more so to your liking....but again...there MAY be some...but I doubt it.

They will be 65.00 a set, and should be ready by the end of next week.

      Thanks Bob

      Matt,

thanks for stopping by yesterday....Im sure we could have spent a better part of the day talking gear head things...lol Hope the solid frame mounts work out for you. Dont forget to check the X-brace on the GTO....who knows how many more models these panels will work with.

With the holidays, it looks like these panels wont be ready by this weekend, but will give you updates.

      Thanks Bob
