68 Cutlass Vert: project owed olds

So today I've actual started the tear down of the car and figured now would be the best time to start this thread. Parts list changes daily lol so I'll just update as I progress. It will be a slow build, I have 2 toddlers and they take priority and majority of my time. Enough about me here's the rust bucket

Great to see another Cutlass build here! The rear lights on a '68 are just beautiful (my favorite part of that year)

Thought I would get some work done on the olds today but walked out to my SUV looking like this on all four corners. I'll have to push it back on the back burner a little while longer. Someone decided they felt like walking around the neighborhood doing this last night.

Sorry to hear about the tire setback. Another future Pro Touring Cutlass. I understand the slow pace, I have little ones as well. Looks like you are moving faster than I am. Good luck!

Had a few minutes today while the kids were napping and the wife was on the computer. Tidied up the firewall a little

That's the plan! Going to get it patched up while the floor pan is getting replaced.

Thanks. I will most definitely be in contact for some guidance. This is my first project of this caliber and can seem very intimidating some time. Glad to know I found a good place to find info and good locals to talk to!

Well those 2 years came and went. I've had a few lifestyle changes that has dramatically impacted the build and also found a frame issue which has left me at a stand still. I'm still very much into the build but funds are strained so I'll be back to it when life permits.

Drivers side frame horn with a rats nest in it. Car was parked in a field for 10 years prior to being stored in a garage for another 5 or so. My question is if I replace the frame horn will it be strong enough to handle autoX or even spirited driving?

If done properly, it should hold up. Then again IMO, you should cut open your frame and repair it. That would be even stronger.
Either way you will have to separate the frame from the body and have the frame cleaned up to see what you are truly working with.
