Thought I would share with you guys my latest project for my car. For years I have had a fiberglass console in my nova that was ok. It had a comfortable arm rest on it, and it was functional. It just always seemed to bulky for me. So I decided to make a new one out of aluminum. It was a long project, let me tell you. But I finally got it the way I wanted, and I snapped a few pictures of it. Yesterday I took it in to have all the pieces anodized in black. Once I get it back I will rivet the arm rest sheet onto the brackets with aluminum rivets. The cool part of the whole thing is that it is lighter then the fiberglass console. Cant wait to see it finished in black. I just now realized that I forgot to take the steering wheel in for anodizing! Looks like another trip is in my future to the anodizer!:hand:

Thanks for all the compliments fellas. This was one big project, even though it is such a small part of the car.It really is nice to finally see it finished.
Here it is back from being anodized and assembled again. I think it turned out well. Now I have to get it mounted in the car. I will need to make a cover for the rear compartment yet but not sure what direction I want to go with it yet. It will probably have some kind of cradle on it to hold my phone. For now I have alot to do to the rest of the car to get it ready for the power tour. Enjoy the pics!!

Looks very cool.

If you want to make it really neat, make small little plates that plug into the recessed areas and cover them in leather or high quality vinyl. That would look sweet!

It is the VVR-500IT it is a couple years old so not what I would call up to the date technology. I like it, but I dont really use all the functions on it. Play my Ipod through it and use the radio. thats about it. It does play videos well, but that was when I first got it ,and I just wanted to test it

Don't get me wrong, I think it looks great, but don't ever touch it after it has been sitting in the sun! Hot metal hurts.
