Powder coated or painted ac compressor?

Does any one know if I can purchase an AC compressor already powder coated (black--satin black)? i really dont want to paint it.
I am using a Vintage Air Surefit system and did not buy the compressor yet.
Didnt know if I had any options to order it from a vendor that way.
I am going to try and call V.A...didnt know if anyone had any insight.
      Thanks
      Eric

Enough people were curious to look at the thread......but noone has ever asked for a colored ac compressor?
I guess with no responses.....The only answer is the obvious one.....Paint it.

I just received a sd7 compressor from wegner they said you can't get them in black, My thought if I was to paint it would be use ppg dp epoxy primer then a satin black, Just a Idea.

Just as curious as you but didn't have anything useful to add. Try it and let us all know how it turns out!

You guys want me to be the test pilot? I am doing good just to get all the parts on this car at the moment, and fired up, If I was to do something I might suggest ppg makes a etching primer in aerosol, I would use it first then whatever color you decide.

I cannot attest to quality or availability but Tuff Stuff (www.tuffstuffperformance.com) seems to advertise A/C compressors available in black or other colors....

I painted my Vintage Air Front Runner components (Alternator, AC and PS pump) last night. I used low gloss black engine paint. Cleaned it off before spraying it and masked everything off. It turned out great and was only a $7 project.

The black finish from Tuff Stuff isn't great but it is black. As far as I can tell they do not offer an alternator for the FrontRunner in black.

      I would paint it.
