      04-06 GTO front seat problem

      Hey Guys,

I just finished installing 04-06 GTO power seats in my 65 GTO. After making all the necessary modifications to the seat tracks, I have them securely installed. I tested both seats before and after installation and found all to work as expected. Now, for some reason, the driver's seat will only move forward or backward in 1 inch increments every few seconds. It seems as if the motor is "overheated" or something and just stops working temporailly. While trying to diagnose, I held the slider button in the forward postion then toggled power and found the seat would move, but only if I toggled the power every few seconds. The same going in reverse. I initially thought maybe the seat was binding but now it appears that is not the case and looks like an electrical issue. Has anyone experience this before?? Also the pass seat appears to be working fine (so far). Thanks for any help

Have you double checked your ground? I know weak ground wire would cause the motor to "under perform"...

i am not sure on the gto seats but if it has a memory setting there is a position sensor that knows where it is. you may have to move the seat all the way forward then all the way back so it knows where its at. same with all the movements of the seat

I was thinking about the ground.....I had to remove it and quickly put it back without checking it too closely. I'm not sure if there is a position sensor but I will check it out as well.

      Thanks Guys
