I am sure that this question has been asked before, but I just can't seem to find enough information on it. I have the rear setup from a 95 z-28 and would like to install it on my 79 z-28. I know that I need to have 2 of the same side caliper. Not sure which side it is, but from the pictures that Baer I should have the correct one. I need to know if I can use the stock mounting plates and what emergency brake cables I will need for the correct lenght. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

You will need 2 left calipers. Not sure of the cables, but you can either got to nastyz28.com in the brakes
Section. Or contact Kore3, since he will sure too know the answer.

Cool. Thanks. Does anyone know about the stock brackets and if they will clock in the correct position to clear the leaf springs?

Cool site, but unfortunately they are 97 and up type rear discs with internal emergency brake, so they are different

The LT1 f-body's used a similar setup to 99 S10 blazers. Check out nasty z28.com. A co-worker had a 95 z28 and a 99 zr2 blazer. He never had a issue with the z28's brakes... But lots of problems with the blazer rear. Best guess is because we live in a heavily salted winter road region....summer driving should not be a problem.

I have no experience with either as of late, but I know many LT1 guys switch over to the later 98+ brakes. I have heard they are much better. I just recently bought a set of 98+ fbody brakes(two left sides), I will do the swap once I get the last few parts I need. I am going to do an indepth write up of converting the LS1 98+ rears onto a 70-81 f-body with staggered shocks.
Good luck.
