      Covan's 79-81 Camaro panel fit

Well went to slide it in after putting in the gauges to test fit it figured the mounting holes might be a little off. Wouldn't go in! the center portion where the gauges are was almost 3/8" taller than the original, mainly along the bottom. Also the addition outer piece around where the center A/C vents are needs to be remove at the top as it hits the dash. Don't know why it is there anyway.

The mounting holes are also off.

I used one without holes and also have one with I was originally going to use(for sale) with the 3 3/8" holes and both hit in the same spots so it is their mold.

Have a Covan's classic insert in my Nova. Fit leaves something to be desired. As I understand, John Covan moved on and created Thunder Road, which I hear makes more robust and better-fitting panels. That being said, it appears that Covan's Classic Dash's parent G-FORCE has purchased Thunder Road, too. So who knows how the quality stacks up now.

I think one I have is Thunder Road and one Covans and they look identical -fit crappy on both.
