      Forge Line Wheels

      Gents,

Alright I have noticed most (well it seems) are running forge line wheels I'm sure for good reasons. In my case there is no way in hell I will ever be able to afford $4400 rims! Is there a comparable wheel out there that is just as good but has a more economcial price tag? Either that or a very generous donation from Forgeline to this AF guy that wants to hang with the boys

      Thanks!

We can work with you on the pricing on the Forgelines. Also, take a look at our very own NewGen wheels, and we can work with you on them as well. Lots to choose from, www.driverzinc.com

I was thinking the same thing as you when I bought my Budnik wheels. I really really wanted Fikse's, but they were to much money for me. I really like my budnik's, but they just weren't the Fikse's that I wanted. After two years on the road I ended up ordering the Fikse's. If I would have just got what I wanted up front it would have saved me a bunch of money in the all run. After buying a few things twice I try to get it right the first time now. I'm not working on a big budget, so if it takes me an extra 6 months of saving money to get the right part vs. buying a cheaper part now I vote buy what you really want 6 months from now.

My Fikse order has now changed to Forgeline, but that's not the point. If you think you will be happy long term with the less expensive option by all means save the money. My set of Budnik's came from Jon at Driverz Inc when he was still working at Budnik and my Fikse/Forgeline order was also with Jon. Get a hold of him or Justin and they will steer you in the right direction.

Like Jason said, buy what you want the first time. I was looking at the new Weld RT/S wheels but finally decided to go with the Forgelines in the end.

Here's another vote for buying what you want once, the first time. Learn from us that did it the hard way...hahaha.

I really REALLY want Forgelines and may bite the bullet next year. Besides the great looks, I want something that will clear the Baer six piston calipers that are on my list of upgrades to be made. But, I have been running Vintage Wheel Works V-40's and get lots of positive comments on them. They offer custom backspacing, have held up well to all kinds of abuse and are relatively affordable compared to the top shelf stuff. Just some food for thought...

I agree with Buying what you think you really want the first time....What a bunch of hours and days I spent, doing research on what Stance and Type, and Finish, and Sizes.....I tried to find cheaper alternatives to what I personally wanted, but I could not...Even some more expensive Wheels did not do it for me.....So, my Wheels are being built right now..I have a Photoshop of What it should look like, and I am excited....Moral is, you each know what you want.....If you can hold off a while, you may only have to buy them once....For me, I hope so too, i hope i got it right.....Too much to do over...Good Luck

If you haven't contacted a retailer or manufacturer, Which Jon @ Driverz Inc. is both, about working out a final price and payments then you are on the outside of the circle. On the outside of the circle you are left to ponder what you can compromise on.

On the inside of the circle you get to talk to the retailer/manufacturer about options and work toward your goal of getting the wheels you want and not the wheels you will settle on.
Get inside the circle. Call Jon.

I was in the service when I bought my wheels from Driverz Inc. If you are an enlisted man I know exactly what it feels like to be in your shoes. Exactly! My wheels were north of 4K and I was able to afford them on an enlisted man's salary. Call and ask Jon Hansen how I did it.

I looked at wheels for a long time. Couldn't find anything I liked that wasn't a forged 3 piece wheel. Most of those are going to be around $700 each for 17s and around $1000 each for 18s. It sucks that there aren't cheaper wheels that look good. I'd even settle for heavier wheels if there was something out there for $200-$300 per wheel that didn't look totally stupid.

I got lucky and bought 18" Fikse Profile 5s wheels with tires for $3000 slightly used, the guy I bought them from showed me the receipt for when he bought them for $6000!

It also sucks there aren't better factory take offs out there. I do like a couple Vette wheels. My 89 will be getting a set of C6's that I paid $400 for. There are a couple BMW wheels out there that I like. I don't remember what these came off, I stole this pic from a member's thread either on here or lateral-g. I really like these wheels

I have a set of Racing Hart C2's I picked up on craigslist for $600. They need a little work but they are 3 piece forged wheels that were over $3000 new. They were on a BMW and are 18x8s, not as wide as I'd like but they'll look good on one of my cars.

I'd say just get what you want and be done with it even if you have to wait a while to get them, but if not I'd suggest looking for factory take offs you like, or a used set of aftermarket wheels.

I neglected to mention that many vendors have sales around Christmas season so keep an eye open for those sales.
