      Le Mans 67

Hi, I have a 67 Le Mans, and I' m just thinking to get new wheels.
I'm gonna be so much more conservative than you. 17*8 and 17*7 in the front.
      Stock suspension.
What do you think about the tires?
      255*45 and 235*50?
      O perhaps 245*45 and 225*50?
      I don't wanna rubber anywhere.
      Thanks

Including the wheel lip, an 8" wide wheel is actually 9", and a 7" wide wheel is actually 8".

      9 inches = 228.6 mm
      8 inches = 203.2 mm

Personally, I'd want tires that are slightly wider than the wheels including the lip.

So, I'd go with 245 mm in the rear, and 215 or 225 mm in the front, depending on how much bulge beyond the wheel lip you want.

Keep in mind that tire width is not exactly as wide as advertised. Some tires run wider than others.

The aspect ratios you picked should look good and provide tire height that looks balanced from the front to the rear.

My 1st car was a 67 Lemans Convertible!

With the 17x7/17x8, I would run the Nitto NT450 225/50/17 and 255/50/17. The fronts are 26" and the rears 27" tall.

I just purchased 17x7 and 17x8 (REV Classic 100's) with 235/45 and 255/45 tires today.

      MFG specs tires at:
      235/45/17 9.4"Wide/25.5"Diameter
      255/45/17 10.3"Wide/26.1"Diameter

      Mine's a '64, but none-the-less a GM A-body. (Oldsmobile F85)

Hope to have photos by next weekend.

Hey I haven't forgotten about those photos.... I'll try to get some soon. I got the wheels in on Friday and got em on... wasn't able to get good photos, just a Iphone photo.

It's been hectic since..... that following Sunday morning we got a call at 6am by the county sheriff's office that my wife's truck was upside down in a ditch, apparently stolen and rolled. Enough excuses....

I will say I am more than happy with the sidewall buldge on the 235/45 and 255/45 Sumitomo tires onto the 7" front and 8" rear wheels.
