      ebay disc conversion kit

i know nothing really about drum to disc coversions. i search what are good, cheap and quality. im on a tight budget and im only gonna be using my vehicle to cruise and not do all out on performance or anything.

i found a ebay kit and i hear there okay, but i just wanted to know if this kit here is complete. im thinking it still needs a backing plate, but is there anything else that i might need? these guys are local to me and do will call, so the price is looking really good to me.

Those are pretty small rotors, only 10.5", which is pretty small whether you're cruising or not. Definitely better than drums, but still not as good as some of your other options. What size wheels do you plan to run?

Also, pay attention to the fact that those are 2" drop spindles, which may or may not be desirable for what you plan to do. Personally I don't like them but I know a lot of guys do run them.

The brake components used in that kit appear to be from the G-body application...arguably one of GM's epic fails with respect to brakes. The factory 68-72 A-body brakes use larger rotors (11x1) and would probably be a better solution, especially considering a lot of guys on here are regularly pulling off fully functional front disc brakes for something a little (or a lot) bigger. I've seen used setups go for anywhere between free and a few hundred bucks. The fact that the F/X-body discs are basically the same only helps availability.
